How Do Therapy Sessions Work?

I tailor my approach to your individual needs and goals. Sessions are based on a continual process of assessment, goal setting, action steps and back to assessment. You can choose to work individually or as a couple.


Individual therapy takes place in the comfort of your home or office, or another quiet place. Individual sessions are optimal when they are held weekly. I’ve found that this frequency allows us to track properly and support the realization of your plans.

 

You may have assignments between sessions. These involve getting to the roots of your emotions and growing the life you want.

Couples counseling is also done from your location(s). Both clients may have their own laptop or tablet or both use one device. Couples work often includes workbooks.

How Long Is the Process?

Therapy involves getting to know each other, then gradually making changes to grow the life (lives) you want. This does not happen from one day to the next. Some clients make therapy an integral part of their life. But perhaps right now you are only seeking help for a specific situation. That’s fine. I recommend six months in order to see lasting change.
